Port Angeles student receives scholarship at Pacific Lutheran University

PARKLAND — Pacific Lutheran University in Parkland has awarded a President’s Scholarship to Katherine Marchant, a student at Port Angeles High School.

According to a press release, the scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, service and leadership.

Marchant is one of 120 President’s Scholars, each of whom receives $34,000, and can compete for one of the university’s 10 $40,000 per year Harstad scholarships or one of its five full-tuition Regents’ Scholarships.

Annual tuition at the private Lutheran university near Tacoma is more than $46,000.
