PORT LUDLOW — The Port Ludlow Art League will feature Lucrezia Cuen Paxson as its artist of the month and Pamela Raine as its jeweler of the month.
During November, Cuen Paxson’s artwork can be viewed at the Sound Community Bank and online at www.portludlowart.org. The bank is located at the corner of Oak Bay Road and Osprey Ridge Drive in Port Ludlow.
Cuen Paxson’s artwork bridges an extensive variety of subjects and mediums, from Western art, florals and vivid abstracts, to works in charcoal and graphite. Her continual search for beauty and the challenge to capture its elusive essence is the driving force behind her artwork, according to a press release.
Her artwork entitled Hats and Boots, charcoal on paper, was selected for the Searching for Beauty exhibition at the Maryhill Museum of Art, located at the Columbia River Gorge. The online exhibition featured student and graduate paintings from the Aristides Atelier at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle.
Raine’s jewelry can be viewed during the month at the Port Ludlow Art Gallery, online at www.portludlowart.org, and in person at the Sound Community Bank. The gallery is open from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.
Raine rummaged through her bags of roving and odd bits and pieces to fuse them together into jewelry using the needle felting technique.
“The texture you can achieve with needle felting is just delicious,” she said in a press release.
The Port Ludlow Art League also will host a group art exhibit titled Holiday Gatherings at the Bay Club, 120 Spinnaker Lane in Port Ludlow. It will feature artists’ interpretations of holiday celebrations around the world.
The Holiday Gatherings exhibit is sponsored by the Port Ludlow Art League and will be on display November through December. Those who view the exhibit can vote for their favorite piece.
