Marga Kapka of Port Townsend was among the 75 people who gathered at the corner of East Sims Way and Kearney Street in Port Townsend late Thursday to show solidarity with the people of Ukraine. Her Hungarian parents fled Budapest in July 1945 to escape the brutality of the Soviets who had liberated the city from the Nazis earlier that year, she said. Another rally is planned at 2 p.m. today at the intersection of Washington and Taylor Streets in Port Townsend.
