Crews install plate glass windows on the northeast face of the new Field Arts & Events Hall at the Port Angeles Waerfront Center on Tuesday. The 41,000-square-foot structure which will include an art gallery, performance hall, conference center and coffee shop, was scheduled to be completed by summer 2021, will be put on a construction hold in January as organizers attempt to secure more funding to complete the project after previous fundraising projections fell short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The $20 million facility replaces the former William Shore Memorial Pool with a larger building, four pools and expanded support facilities. Because of separation rules for COVID-19, swimmers are required to reserve time to prevent crowding. Blocks of swimming are currently available from 10 a.m. to noon, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
