Soroptimist International of Port Angeles awards nursing scholarship

PORT ANGELES — Soroptimist International of Port Angeles has awarded its annual nursing scholarship to Anna DeGroote.
DeGroote is the second recipient of the scholarship which honors former Soroptimist members Rose Crumb and Helen Mangan.
DeGroote, a certified nursing assistant, is working toward the goal of becoming a certified registered nurse anesthetist, according to a press release.
The scholarship, which is available to students in their second year of the nursing program at Peninsula College, is administered by the Peninsula College Foundation.
