Man in serious condition after collision at Fort Flagler

MARROWSTONE ISLAND — A Nordland man was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after his vehicle left the the roadway at Fort Flagler State Park and crashed into a tree.

Richard A. Wolfe, 68, was driving his Jeep Cherokee on state Highway 116 about 2:30 p.m. Saturday when his vehicle left the right side of the roadway, according to a report from the State Patrol.

Wolfe was airlifted to Harborview, where he was listed Sunday in serious condition, a hospital spokesperson said.

Wolfe was wearing a seat belt, but his vehicle was destroyed, the State Patrol said.

The report stated there were no drugs or alcohol involved, but Wolfe will be charged with second-degree negligent driving.
