WILDER BASEBALL: Junior, Senior teams holding tryouts tonight, Wednesday

PORT ANGELES — The 16U Wilder Junior and 18U Wilder Senior baseball teams are holding tryouts tonight and Wednesday night at Civic Field.

Players should meet at the south locker room by 6 p.m.

Games will begin June 3-4 as both Wilder independent traveling teams will be hosting the Toyota Baseball Club of Bellevue. The Wilder teams will also Firecracker Classic at Civic Field in early July and will complete its season with a showcase tournament in Clackamas, Ore.

The Wilder senior team will play about 45 games this summer, with about 20 games at Civic Field, while the Junior team will play about 35 games, with about 10 or 12 home games.

The 18U team will be coached by Port Angeles High School coach Karl Myers, while the 16U team will be coached by former Wilder manager and player Rob Merritt.
