CHENEY — Port Townsend’s Seren Dances so far has the fastest time among 1A boys in the state in the preliminaries of the 300-meter hurdles.
Dances ran the event Thursday in 39.53 seconds, which is nearly a full second faster than the second-fastest time by Riley Wilson of Deer Park.
The finals will be held Friday.
In other track updates, Port Angeles’ Gracie Long garnered a top-10 finish, coming in seventh in the state 2A meet in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:08.58, a personal record. She also finished 12th in the high jump with a leap of 4-10. Sequim’s Clarisse Finman finished 11th in the discus with a throw of 98-7.
