SPORTS: Sequim boys basketball team belts Eatonville to stay alive in district tournament

TACOMA — The Big Three are back.

Sequim’s top three scorers exploded for a combined 56 points to spark the Sequim boys basketball team to a do-or-die 62-52 victory over Eatonville on Saturday in the 2A West Central District playoffs at Foss High School.

Corbin Webb, who has been on fire in district games, scorched the nets again, this time for 25 points, while Jayson Brocklesby netted 17 and Gabe Carter added 14 as the Wolves cruised to a 31-20 lead at the break.

Sequim next plays Foster, the team that belted Port Angeles 58-41 in the district first round, in the loser-out consolation semifinals Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Foss.

“We have been playing pretty good basketball the past six quarters,” Sequim coach Greg Glasser said.

“If we keep playing like that, I like our chances against Foster.”
