Sports: Port Townsend volleyball team two and out

YAKIMA — Port Townsend went two-and-out at the state Class 2A volleyball tournament, twice losing 3-1 on Friday in the Yakima SunDome.

“We didn’t quite get into a rhythm today,” Port Townsend head coach Matt Ready said following his team’s elimination. “I don’t know if it’s state jitters or what.

“We took both (matches) to four games so obviously we’re competitive with these teams.”

The Redskins (9-11) fell to defending state champion Kiona-Benton in the first round and to Ridgefield in the second.
