PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend boys basketball team will be playing for its playoff life tonight when it hosts Orting at 7 p.m. in Bruce Blevins Gymnasium.
The Redskins drew Orting for tonight’s loser-out playoff after Chimacum lost to Vashon Island on Tuesday night, finishing in a tie with the Cardinals for fifth in the Class 1A Nisqually League.
The Cardinals earned the tie-breaker over the Cowboys by virtue of a coin flip held last week.
Port Townsend (5-11 in league, 7-13 overall) and Orting (3-9, 4-13) will play for the West Central District’s No. 5 seed into the 1A Tri-District.
Another Redskin win would give them a home game Thursday night against the 1A Northwest District’s No. 4 seed.
Admission for adults, Blue Heron Middle School and students without an ASB card is $6. Visiting students with an ASB card can get in for $4, as can Blue Heron students in grades 4-5.
Seniors ages 60 and older and elementary students can purchase tickets for $2.
