TACOMA — Port Angeles High School senior Julio Garcia made it look easy to be the best in the state.
Garcia, throwing off the frustration of being upset early in the last two state wrestling tournaments, won the Class 4A 125-pound state championship Saturday night.
The 17-year-old athlete had only one close match while going 4-0 in the two-day tournament at the Tacoma Dome and becoming the first-ever Port Angeles defending champion.
The only other area wrestler to medal at state was Port Townsend sophomore Keith Johnson, who captured sixth place.
