Sports: Chimacum boys lose first round game in state tourney, play again today

YAKIMA — The Chimacum High School boys basketball team incurred a 70-42 loss to top-ranked Nooksack Valley on Wednesday in the first round of the 2A state tournament.

Chimacum (14-14) will take on Othello (15-10) today at 12:30 p.m. in a loser-out game in the double-elimination tournament at the Yakima SunDome.

Othello was a 54-53 loser to undefeated Hoquiam (24-0) in Wednesday’s first round.
