Volleyball tryouts set Wednesday

PORT ANGELES — Club volleyball tryouts for female players who were born by Sept. 1, 2001 or later are planned Wednesday.

Tryouts will be held at the Stevens Middle School gymnasium from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The area team will be part of the Washington Elite Volleyball Club.

Every player must register with USA Volleyball at psrvb.org/register and selecting “Washington Elite” prior to participating in tryouts. There is a $5 fee for registration.

Wrestle in PA

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Wrestling Club, formerly Olympic Mountain Wrestling Club, will hold its first practice today at 5:30 p.m. in the Port Angeles High School wrestling room.

Parents can register wrestlers at the event.

Competition Team wrestlers also will practice on Thursdays.

The club is open to boys and girls in grades one through eight.

The program’s cost is $100 per wrestler, or $120 for competition team wrestlers.

Wrestlers will receive a club T-shirt, and the registration fee includes a USA Wrestling card.

No Turkey Trot

BRINNON — The Brinnon Parks and Recreation’ 3-kilometer Turkey Trot fun run set for Saturday has been canceled due to a lack of preregistration.
