SOFTBALL: Errors doom Forks in doubleheader

EATONVILLE — The bats are coming around, but the gloves are lagging behind for the Forks softball team.

The Spartans dropped both games of a road doubleheader to Eatonville, falling by scores of 16-6 and 16-5.

Forks opened strong in game one, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning, but couldn’t hold on.

“Struggles continue with a young team,” Spartans coach Scott Bennett said.

“Started out well, but Eatonville took advantage of miscues and pitching inconsistencies to beat us.”

Sarah Adams homered for Forks, while Julia Lausche had two hits and an RBI.

In game two, the Cruisers’ Kylie Koszykowski hit two home runs as the Spartans fell 16-5.

Lausche and Britney Dean each had two hits for Forks.

The Spartans (0-7, 0-7) host undefeated Tenino (4-0, 7-0) on Friday, April 15.
