PREP TRACK AND FIELD: Forks girls first at home meet

FORKS — Forks sprinters Noah Foster and Erika Williams were the stars as the Forks girls won a home Pacific 2B league meet, while the boys came in second out of six schools.

The Forks girls tallied 142 points in Tuesday’s meet, easily outdistancing Raymond-South Bend, which had 107. The Forks boys had 114, just getting nipped by North Beach, which had 117.33 points.

Foster won the 100 meters (11.88 seconds), the 200 meters (24.31 seconds) and the 400 (54.29 seconds). Williams won the 100 (13.81 seconds) and the 200 (29.12 seconds).

Both runners were part of three first-place relay teams, as well. Foster was part of a 4×100 team, along with Malachi Rowley, Gage Willenbrink and Bubba Stansbury-Hernandez, that won in a time of 47.31.

Williams was the anchor on the Forks 4×100 team with Skye Hestand, Jade Blair and Elizabeth Morrison (54.91) and the anchor on the 4×200 with the same girls (1:55.82).

The Forks girls 4×400 (Simona Cruz-Lopez, Kyleigh Richardson, Brilei Hull and Liliana Scordino) also took first in 4:46.23.

Forks’ Hestand won the 400-meter run in 1:10.53, a personal record, and teammate Aliya Gillett was first in the 100 hurdles in 22.16, also a personal record. Leilee Earls was first in the 800 in 3:24.59.

Forks’ Reagan Dunn won the javelin with a throw of 95 feet, 6 inches, and Kaleeka Mendoza-McCarty of Clallam Bay won the triple jump with a distance of 29-11.

For the boys, Bryan Lucas of Forks had a solid meet, winning the 1,600 (5:22.66) and the 3,200 (11:49.73).

Stansbury-Hernandez won the shot put with a personal-record distance of 38-0. Kaden Ward won the discus with a throw of 96-1 and Brian Buchmann of Forks was first in the javelin with a personal-record throw of 108-8.

Clallam Bay’s William Hull took first in the high jump at 5-8, while teammate Cyrus Politte won the long jump with a personal-record leap of 18-0.
