CARSON, Calif. — Port Angeles and Peninsula College standout Millie Long has enjoyed an outstanding senior season for the NCAA Division II Alaska Anchorage women’s basketball team, and her exploits were rewarded with a selection to the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics D2CCA All-West Region team.

A 5-9 point guard, Long was previously selected as the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year after transferring from Cal Poly Humboldt, posting 12.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 4.2 steals per game for the nationally 16th-ranked Seawolves (27-4).

The NCAA Division II steals leader has recorded a GNAC and UAA single-season 129 swipes so far while leading the GNAC in both assists and assist/turnover ratio (2.3) as well.

Among her big games, the Port Angeles alumna (Class of 2021) and former Peninsula College star recorded 26 points, nine steals, eight assists and no turnovers against Western Oregon, nine points (4-6 FG), 10 assists and just one turnover in a win over nationally ranked Montana State-Billings, and 21 points and a school-record 11 steals against Simpson.

She and the No. 4-seeded Seawolves (27-4) face No. 5 Montana State-Billings (25-7) tonight at 6:30 p.m.

Long was joined on the All-West Region team by senior teammate Tori Hollingshead.

As first-team picks, both Seawolves advance to the balloting for D2CCA All-America honors, voted upon by the College Sports Communicators (sports information directors). membership.
