BOYS BASKETBALL: Big three come up large for Neah Bay against Crescent

JOYCE — Neah Bay started strong, let Crescent creep back into the contest at halftime and utilized a dominant second half to win going away over the Loggers, 75-35 in boys basketball action Wednesday.

The Red Devils led 24-5 after one quarter before Crescent chipped away to trail 33-24 at the break.

Cameron Moore scored eight of his game-high 21 points for Neah Bay in the third quarter and Keith Johnson Jr. poured in nine of his 18 points in the same quarter as the Red Devils rebuilt their lead.

Johnson added seven assists and three steals for Neah Bay.

Sean Bitegeko continued his strong play this season with 16 points on 7 of 10 shooting and 14 rebounds, seven on the offensive glass.

Eric Emery led the Loggers (3-3, 6-7) with 14 points.

Crescent will visit Clallam Bay tonight in the rubber match of the team’s three-game league series.

The Red Devils (6-0, 10-6) have sealed the North Olympic League championship and will receive a first-round bye into the Tri-District Tournament. Neah Bay will host the winner of a game between District 2 No. 5 and the District 1 No. 2 at a to-be-determined location, likely Port Angeles, on Feb. 12.

Before that, Neah Bay continues its regular season at Chief Kitsap today.
