Sequim’s Hannah Bates had a basketball game for the ages Saturday against Olympic League 2A foe Bremerton.

Bates hit five 3-pointers, shooting 5-for-10 from beyond the arc en route to a team-leading 22 points.

Her points weren’t all, though. She nearly had a triple-double with nine assists and nine steals to lead the Wolves to a 70-43 win.

Bates, who plays the point guard position, has been a big part of the Wolves’ 3-0 start this season, averaging 17.0 points, 5.3 assists and 6.7 steals a game.

She also has just six turnovers all season while running the team’s offense.

Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Swains General Store.
