ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Dominic Riccobene, Sequim boys golf

Dominic Riccobene is one of the leaders on a very good Sequim boys golf team that shot an amazing team score of 163 at Cedars at Dungeness last week in an Olympic 2A League victory over Bremerton, as the Wolves won by a huge margin of 46 strokes to begin 2-0 on the season.

The Sequim boys bettered their previous week’s score by 23 strokes, with Riccobene leading the way with a medalist score of 37, the best score of the day by three strokes.

Riccobene, team captain Ben Sweet and Pryce Glasser look to lead the Sequim team deep into postseason this year, which will get an opportunity to play in district and state tournaments for the first time in two years.

Riccobene also shot a 44 the previous week in a road match against Bainbridge, good for second place on the day.

Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Swain’s General Store in Port Angeles.
