ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Brody Lausche, Forks basketball

Forks’ Brody Lausche has been an absolute beast on the boards all month as the Spartans not only locked up a Pacific 2B League championship, but are gunning for a perfect record in league.

Lausche, a senior and four-year starter for the Spartans, was a near-automatic double-double machine for the Spartans all through January.

In a 57-53 battle against Raymond-South Bend on Jan. 24 to lock up a share of the Pacific 2B title, Lausche had 17 points and pulled down 17 rebounds.

Then on Friday, Lausche followed up with a 10-point, 14-rebound game. In a game earlier in January against Raymond-South Bend, Lausche had perhaps his best game of the year, going for 21 points and 18 rebounds.

The Spartans, 17-2 overall, are motivated to finish a perfect 8-0 in the Pacific 2B League with a game at Chief Leschi today.

Athlete Of the Week is sponsored by Swain’s General Store in Port Angeles.
