PAHS Riders hoops firewood raffle on now

PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles Boys Basketball is holding its annual firewood fundraiser, raffling off three separate cords of split, 16-t0-18-inch maple firewood.

The drawing and delivery (within 10 miles of Port Angeles) is set Sept. 21.

Tickets are available through Sept. 20 and are $5 per ticket, five for $20 or 15 for $40 and are available by calling/texting coach Kasey Ulin at 360-640-1845 or by contacting a Roughriders basketball player.

Provide name, contact number and address on each raffle ticket for contact purposes.

Adult volleyball clinic

PORT ANGELES — A volleyball clinic for adult players will be hosted by Momentum One Volleyball Academy on Sept. 10.

The clinic will be held in the Peninsula College gym from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Beginning to advanced volleyball skills will be taught by academy coaches.

Proceeds will benefit Momentum One’s youth volleyball club.

The cost is $30 per person and registration is available by emailing momentumvolleyball@gmail.com.

The Peninsula Volleyball League is co-sponsoring the clinic.

Fall soccer, volleyball

PORT ANGELES — Adult coed recreation opportunities for soccer, volleyball and basketball will get under way in September, all hosted by Peninsula College.

The Peninsula Soccer League features matches beginning Sunday and running through November.

The Peninsula Volleyball League has two divisions with games on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from mid-September through December.

The fee to participate in the adult soccer and volleyball leagues is $50 per person. Players can register as part of a team at https://tinyurl.com/PDN-PCRec24.

Those who want to get on a team for soccer or volleyball are encouraged to contact Jake Hughes (soccer) at jahughes@pencol.edu or Rick Ross (volleyball) at rross@pencol.edu. Every effort will be made to get players attached to teams.

Basketball players can participate in a drop-in league called Peninsula Noon Hoops during the noon hour on Mondays and Fridays from Sept. 9 through December.

A formal league will begin in January with games on Sundays. Noon Hoops is a drop-in event, but participants need to be registered for $50 for the fall session.

Adult recreation sports are limited to those 16 and older.

Pickleball tourney

SEQUIM — The Blue Hole Bash, a four-day pickleball tournament, is back.

This year’s event, hosted by the Sequim Picklers, is set for Sept. 19-22 at Carrie Blake Community Park, 202 N. Blake Ave.

Play starts as early as 7 a.m. each day, with USSP Senior Days scheduled for Sept. 19-20 and remaining matches the following two days.

Players divisions in this doubles tournament are by age and skill, with five-year intervals. All brackets are round-robin with playoffs for the tops teams.

No membership in any association is required for registration.

Those with US Senior Pickleball (USSP) memberships get a $10 refund on their entry fees.

Cost to register is $60 plus $15 per event through Sept. 10, with late registration fees (after Sept. 10) rising to $75 plus $15 per event.
