Youth wrestling registration underway in PA

PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles Wrestling Club registration is underway and practices begin Monday, Nov. 13 for boys and girls in kindergarten through eighth grades.

All skill levels are welcome. The program fee is $75 per wrestler and includes a Port Angeles Wrestling Club T-shirt and a USA Wrestling membership card.

Families of three or more children can receive a discount and scholarships are available.

Practices will be held in the Port Angeles High School Wrestling Room at the school gym beginning Monday, Nov. 13 and ending in mid-February.

Wrestlers in grades K-third will practice from 5:20 p.m. to 6:20 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.

Grades four through eight will practice from 6:20 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.

An advanced/competive group also will practice from 5:20 p.m. to 6:20 p.m. There is an extra $25 fee to join this group.

Wrestlers will be coached by Port Angeles High School wrestling coach Rob Gale, Chris Myers and Sam Olson.

Sequim hoops

SEQUIM — Sequim Youth Basketball hosts registration for the upcoming basketball season for boys and girls in grades K-four.

Registration is set for Saturday, and Saturday, Nov. 11, at Sequim Middle School, 301 W. Hendrickson Road. Registration for kindergarten players is $5 per player and is from 9-10:30 a.m. Registration for players in grades 3-4 is $75 each and runs 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Registrants are asked to wear athletic shoes and bring a basketball, water bottle and signed Sequim Youth Basketball form; get forms at www.sequimyouthbasketball.com or on-site.

YMCA youth hoops

PORT ANGELES — Registration is open for the Olympic Peninsula YMCA’s Coed Kinder Hoops League for ages 4 to 6 and its leagues for boys and girls in grades one through six.

The cost for kinder hoops is $40 for YMCA members, $50 for the public, and the kinder hoops season will run from Nov. 28 to Jan. 18, 2018.

The fee for boys and girls in grades one through six is $59 for YMCA members, $69 for the public. Practice begins the week of Nov. 27, with games held on Saturdays beginning Dec. 16 and ending Feb. 3, 2018.

Coaches and volunteers are needed.

Registration is set to close today, or whenever teams are filled.
