PORT ANGELES — North Olympic Baseball and Softball will host President’s Day baseball and softball clinics with the Mariners Training Center.

The clinics will be held at the North Olympic Baseball and Softball Barn, 260 Easy St., on Feb. 17.

Baseball clinics for ages 8-11 will run from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and ages 12-16 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

An all-skills softball clinic for ages 8-16 will run from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. and a softball pitching clinic will run from 3:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

The clinics will teach baseball and softball skills like throwing, pitching, hitting, defense and performance training.

Softball pitching clinic

PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles High School senior Heidi Leitz will offer a softball pitching clinic for girls ages 8-14 on Tuesday at the North Olympic Baseball and Softball Barn, 260 Easy St.

Leitz is a four-year starter on the Roughriders’ varsity team and plans to attend Saint Martin’s University and play softball starting this fall.

The clinic will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will teach the basic fundamentals of pitching and how to mentally prepare yourself to pitch.

The cost is $55.

Babe Ruth registration

PORT ANGELES — Registration for the upcoming Olympic Junior Babe Ruth baseball season for ages 13-15 is available now.

Parents and guardians will need to provide a copy of their player’s birth certificate when registering.

The cost is $130.31.

EJLL registration

PORT HADLOCK — Registration is open for East Jefferson Little League’s baseball, softball and T-Ball leagues at https://tinyurl.com/PDN-EJLL25.

Fees are $85 for T-Ball and $110 for all baseball and softball divisions.

Early bird registration provides a $10 discount through Feb. 16.

A $10 discount is available for each additional sibling in a family, with a limit of five.

Skills assessments are planned for Bob Bates Little League Fields, 84 Elkins Road, on March 1 and March 5.

On March 1, baseball players ages 13-16 will try out at 10 a.m. on Field 4, ages 10-12 at noon on Field 2 and ages 6-9 at 2 p.m. on Field 2.

Softball players ages 12-16 will try out at 11 a.m., while ages 8-11 will be tested at 1 p.m.

Another skills assessment for all ages will be held at 5 p.m. March 5.

PORT HADLOCK — Free baseball and softball clinics for those with one year or less experience playing the sport are set for mid-February.

The clinics will be held at the East Jefferson Little League fields, 80 Elkins Road.

The free softball clinic is for players ages 8-10 and will run from noon to 3 p.m. Feb. 15.

The baseball clinic is for ages 6-8 and will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Feb. 16.
