One candidate files during Clallam special filing period

PORT ANGELES — LeAnne Fletcher is running unopposed to retain her District 3 seat on the Cape Flattery School Board in the Nov. 2 general election while Susie Brandelisu will remain in her Position 2 seat on the Quillayute Park and Recreation District commission.

A special three-day filing period ended Friday with Fletcher filing for the Cape Flattery School Board and no candidate seeking the Quillayute Park and Recreation District commission. Neither seat had drawn candidates for the Nov. 2 general election during the regular candidate filing period that ended May 21. That opened a special filing period on Wednesday.

Since no candidate filed for her seat Brandelisu will stay put until the next election when the position is voted upon.

Candidates who file during the special filing period cannot withdraw.
