LETTER: Seek Peace

How sad to see the Dec. 14 letter about no unity, ever, not gonna happen attitude.

Does the writer mean, by “all Democrats,” the 80 million-plus who voted for Biden, tired of Trump’s daily lying and insults, the immoral behavior, misogyny, racism and bullying?

Democrats didn’t spend four years trashing Trump. He brought scorn and derision upon himself.

Most Americans seek harmony, unity, draining the swamp and getting on with the lawful governance of our country.

Trump filled the swamp; he solicited foreign help to discredit Biden and became only the third president ever to be impeached by the House of Representatives.

During impeachment, Republicans said “let the voters decide.”

We did, and Trump lost.

Now, they have sued to overturn the election, losing in every court, even under Trump-appointed judges.

Adam Schiff states, “It’s clear it was never about the voters, our constitution, our democracy… only staying in power.

“Trump has detonated a bomb under the … foundations of a civilization that is increasingly unable to distinguish between facts and falsehoods, evidence and fantasy… why is it so many of the same conservatives who vehemently objected to Bill Clinton on moral grounds vehemently support Trump on the absence of moral grounds?” (Brett Stephens, NY Times)

Now, we see violent protests by Trump supporters who believe his lies about “winning the election.”

Proud Boys and House GOP members are actively subverting democracy.

Don’t talk about Antifa and BLM trashing our cities.

It’s time to put this tyranny to rest and seek peace.
