Yellow bus available today, Saturday in Port Angeles for school supply donations

PORT ANGELES — Donations and school supplies continue to be collected for distribution Aug. 24, with a bus waiting to be “stuffed” today and Saturday.

A yellow bus ready to be stuffed with supplies will be parked from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Troubles Brewing near the intersection of Mount Pleasant Road and U.S. Highway 101.

It will be in the Walmart parking lot at 3411 E. Kolonels Way from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

On Wednesday, a Stuff the Bus event was held in front of the KONP radio studio at 721 E. First St. from noon to 2 p.m.

School supplies, haircuts, community services resources and Port Angeles School District back-to-school information will be presented to families in need from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 24 at Jefferson Elementary, 218 E. 12th St., Port Angeles.

Supplies and opportunities will be available free to students in kindergarten through 12th grades.

Immunizations will be offered by Clallam County Health & Human Services. The cost will be $12 per immunization; Medicaid can be billed for services.

SmileMobile staff will make appointments for its Sept. 9-21 visit.

Sodexo Food Services will provide lunch, serving barbecued hot dogs and fixings.
