Womanfest has space at its fall retreat this weekend; sign up by Wednesday

PORT ANGELES — The annual Womanfest fall retreat still has space for women at Camp David Junior, the county park and cabins on Lake Crescent’s north shore, this coming Friday evening through Sunday afternoon, Sept. 27.

The retreat includes meals cooked in the lakeside lodge, crafts, walks on nearby trails, canoeing and other relaxing activities the women choose.

The fee is $110 including all meals, snacks and accommodations in the rustic Camp David Junior cabins.

Proceeds benefit Womanfest, a nonprofit organization that awards scholarships to local college students.

This year, scholarships were presented to Amy McIntyre of Port Angeles, who is earning a bachelor’s degree in integrated social sciences from the University of Washington; Alicia Dawn Potswald, a student at the Port Townsend School of Massage; and Mariah Trineen Doty, a Peninsula College alumna and current chemistry student at the UW.

Those who want to join next weekend’s Womanfest retreat are asked to register by this Wednesday.

For details and a form, see www.womanfest.org.
