WITH WOODEN BOAT FESTIVAL — Crafts by the Dock to showcase handmade items

PORT TOWNSEND — The 40th annual Crafts by the Dock Fair will be held on Madison Street downtown Saturday and Sunday.

Event hours for the fair, located a block from this weekend’s Wooden Boat Festival, are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Juried artists from all over Washington and other states including California, Colorado, Florida and Idaho will sell handmade artwork such as maritime paintings, fine silver, gold with gemstones, enamel-work jewelry, beaded jewelry, blown glass and etched glass.

Lots of more items

Other items for sale are wooden wares, watercolors, tiles, hand-forged steel sculptures, photography, hand-forged knives, handwoven and hand-knitted clothing, lamp-worked beads, wooden flutes, children’s clothing, various types of pottery, tile murals and more.

This event is the largest fundraiser for the Port Townsend Arts Guild, which donates up to $4,500 yearly to qualified college-bound students in the arts.

This year, the arts guild awarded a $1,000 arts scholarship to Kali Copsick of Chimacum High School.

The arts guild has been a self-supporting nonprofit arts organization for more than 40 years.
