U.S. Sen. Patty Murray will be the guest of honor during an Aug. 9 ground-breaking ceremony for the “Sappho Gap”‘ project.
The ceremony to link fiber-optic networks on Clallam County’s East and West Ends will begin at 2 p.m. at the junction of West Twin Road and U.S. Highway 101, near Sappho.
Construction bids for the project are expected to be opened Aug. 7.
A state board approved $1.7 million for the installation of a fiber-optic cable for 26-mile missing link between broadband communication networks.
