The retirement center goal is to collect 500 pounds of food for the Sequim Food Bank.

In addition, it also is raising funds to give five fully prepared Thanksgiving meals to families with seniors raising grandchildren and who attend the Sequim unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula.

Donations can be taken to The Fifth Avenue or the satellite collection boxes at Safeway and Grocery Outlet.

Food bank President Stephen Rosales said peanut butter and tuna fish are always needed.

The collection sites are located at:

■   Safeway, 680 W. Washington St.: Food bin available for donations.

■   Grocery Outlet, 1045 W. Washington St.: Food bin available for donations
