PORT TOWNSEND — Highlights from “The Music Man” and the overture from “The Mikado” are on the program of the Port Townsend Summer Band’s free concert at Chetzemoka Park, 900 Jackson St., Sunday.
Guest conductor Miles Vokurka will lead the 35-piece band in the 3 p.m. concert at the park’s gazebo, while Bruce Wilder will serve as master of ceremonies.
Also on the program in the first half are Fillmore’s “His Honor” and Reeves and Nassann’s “Connecticut March,” along with the “Music Man” and “Mikado” selections.
In the second half after intermission, the band will offer Sousa’s “Manhattan Beach,” Balfe and Hayes’ music from “Bohemian Girl,” Vinson, Schetzinger and Mercer’s “Tangerine” and “Red Hat Triptych,” a composition from Port Townsend Summer Band leader Karl Bach.
The Port Townsend Summer Band, whose members range from high school to retirees, will also give concerts at the Uptown Street Fair at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, and at the Pope Marine Park at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30.
