Audubon potluck set
PORT TOWNSEND — The Admiralty Audubon Society will host its final public program of the season — a dessert potluck — at the Pope Marine Park Building on Madison Street from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. today.
The potluck will be accompanied by David Gluckman’s bird photography.
The event is free to the public. Participants are asked to bring desserts to share.

Trail run
PORT TOWNSEND — The Longest Day of Trails, a 5K run fundraiser for the Jefferson Trail Coalition, will be held at the Port Townsend Shipyard, state Highway 20 and Haines Place, from 10 a.m. to noon today.
The run is on the Larry Scott Trail, starting and finishing at the shipyard.

Marching band plays
PORT TOWNSEND — The What Cheer? Brigade, a 19-piece marching band hailing from Providence, R.I., will perform at the Quimper Grange, 1219 Corona St. from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.
Also performing are the Loyd Family Players, a 10-piece percussion powerhouse from Oakland, Calif.
Admission is a suggested donation of $5 to $10.

Outdoor Club hike
QUILCENE — The Olympic Outdoor Club will hike the Lena Lake Trail today.
This is a relatively easy hike of 6.0 miles round trip, with an elevation gain of 1,300 feet and a high point of 2,000 feet.

CHIMACUM
New plant clinic
CHIMACUM — The Jefferson County Master Gardeners are starting a second plant clinic location at the Chimacum Corner Store, 9122 Rhody Drive, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. today.
The clinics are set every other Sunday until Sept. 28.
The Washington State University Extension office at Point Hudson, 380 Jefferson St., Port Townsend, also is open for questions every Monday until Sept. 29 (except holidays) from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The plant clinics are free and open to the public.
A Master Gardener will be at the Chimacum Corner Store to assist with gardening questions and diagnosis of plant problems.
Bagged samples of plant parts — both healthy and damaged sections, including the stem, leaves and flowers — as well as pest samples can help in the diagnosis.

Dance recital
SEQUIM — Aspire Academy, a music and dance center just west of Sequim, will give its seventh annual spring recital — starring 300 dancers age 3 and older — at the Sequim High School Performing Arts Center at 3 p.m. today.
The choreographed, costume-rich shows will be at Sequim High School, 601 N. Sequim Ave., with tickets $7 in advance or $10 at the door.
The theme is “Broadway.” Each class at the academy is dancing to a Broadway-themed song.

Yacht club races
SEQUIM — The Oasis Bar and Grill is sponsoring the Thistle District Championship at John Wayne Marina, 2577 W. Sequim Bay Road, today.
First warning is at 10 a.m. No races will be held after 2 p.m.
Thistle sailboats from all over the Northwest will descend onto Sequim Bay and compete in the Pacific Northwest District Championship.
The regatta is hosted by the Seattle Thistle Fleet No. 61 and the Sequim Bay Yacht & Sailing Club.
