PORT ANGELES — The last dance before a summer break is set for Saturday night at the Black Diamond Community Hall, about 2 miles south of Port Angeles at 1942 Black Diamond Road.
It’s a community contra dance for people of all ages and experience levels, starting with a beginners’ workshop and refresher at 7:30 p.m.
Then comes the music: by Seattle fiddler Ruthie Dornfeld and guitarist Forrest Gibson from 8 p.m. till 10 p.m.
Michael Karcher is the dance caller; he’s known for a relaxed style of teaching and calling, which he’s honed at dances all over the United States and Canada.
Admission is an $8 donation for adults or $4 for those 17 and younger.
