WEEKEND: Lake Crescent Lodge to host Teddy Bear Tea on Saturday — corrected

CORRECTION: This has been corrected to reflect that canoe rentals are closed for the season.

OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK — Lake Crescent Lodge will host Franklin and Theodore’s Teddy Bear Tea at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Reservations are required for the tea, which costs $25 for one child and one adult. Admission for each additional child is $8. For each additional adult, it is $18.

The lodge is on Lake Crescent about 18 miles west of Port Angeles off U.S. Highway 101.

Weekly tea parties

At the special holiday tea parties, hosted every Saturday through Dec. 27, guests can learn the history of the teddy bear and the two presidents who influenced Olympic National Park.

They also can have photos taken with the teddy bears, Franklin and Theodore.

This is the second year the lodge has remained open during winter months.

The lodge used to close from the end of October until late April or the beginning of May. Now, everything the lodge is open through New Year’s Day.

Locals-only rate

That includes the Roosevelt fireplace cabins, restaurant, gift shop, the lobby and glassed-in porch. Canoe rentals are closed.

A $79-a-night “locals-only” room rate is offered this month along with other specials posted at http://tinyurl.com/lakecrescentspecials.

For more information on events and room specials, phone 360-928-3211 or 888-723-7127, or visit www.olympicnationalparks.com.
