QUILCENE — Freddy Pink, the band whose motto is “better living through rock and soul,” is bringing both to the Linger Longer Outdoor Theater this Saturday night.

From Stevie Wonder’s “Higher Ground” and James Brown’s “I Feel Good” to Average White Band’s “Pick up the Pieces” and the Rascals’ “Good Lovin,’” Freddy Pink will dish out dance-driving music starting at 6 p.m. The band, with vocalists Coreena Brown, Gordon Yancey and Kia Pierce, has a pair of summer guest artists: guitarist Art Bromage and saxophone man Rich Cole.

On Saturday evening, a beer and wine garden will be set up by the Linger Longer stage, which is in Worthington Park at 151 W. Columbia St.

Tickets, which will be on sale at the gate, are $20 for adults, $15 for students and military, and free for children 12 and younger. Advance tickets are on sale at the Quilcene Village Store, 294235 U.S. Highway 101.

Concert-goers are invited to bring their own blankets and chairs and asked to leave pets at home.

Proceeds will benefit the Quilcene Historical Museum, which is right beside the Linger Longer theater.

The Freddy Pink show is exactly the kind of fundraiser the outdoor stage was built for, said organizer Gary Phillips.

“Many local people came together to make this beautiful performance stage happen,” he said, adding that the goal is twofold: Support the museum and bring people over to see what Quilcene has to offer.

Among the sponsors of Saturday’s event are Quilcene Village Store, MunnBro’s Hood Canal Properties, 101 Brewery, The Josephine Campbell Building, Davis Masonry LLC, Windermere Hood Canal, Penny Creek Quarry, Reeves Excavating, Shawna King’s Zumba, VFW Post 3213 Quilcene, Mahan Tree Service, Quilcene Henery’s Hardware, Irish Tractor Service, Timberhouse Restaurant, Quilcene Espresso, Lux Lumina Salon, Custom Auto Repair, the Plaid Pepper, Gardens & More and Mahan Log & Lumber.
