SEQUIM — To celebrate the nationwide Small Business Saturday shopping day, a raft of local artists are gathering for a public Fiber Arts Market from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Museum & Arts Center, 175 W. Cedar St.
One-of-a-kind creations — scarves, quilts, a felted cape — await during Saturday’s event, while Sequim and Port Angeles fiber artists Lynn Baritelle, Renne Emiko Brock-Richmond, MarySue French, Sue Nylander and Marla Varner come and chat about the techniques they use. Members of the North Olympic Shuttle and Spindle Guild also will be on hand.
“Fine art, wearable art, accessories, housewares, yarn, fleece and fuzzy gifts” are all here, said Brock-Richmond.
She’s the curator of the Museum & Arts Center’s November show, “Parallel Patterns,” and founder of the North Olympic Fiber Arts Festival, which takes place in Sequim every fall. Saturday is the last day of the “Parallel” exhibition.
