PORT ANGELES — To swing and stomp away the wintry chill, the hosts of the monthly Black Diamond Community Hall dance will have another all-ages gathering this Saturday night, this time with the Fixations band and Seattle dance caller Tony Mates.
No experience is required to join this contra dance, a line dance with French and English origins, since a beginners workshop and refresher will start at 7:30 p.m.
Then the Fixations — Cathie Whitesides, Sandy Bradley and Laurie Andres — will take the stage at 8 p.m., fiddle, guitar and accordion in hands.
Admission to Saturday’s dance is $8 for adults and $4 for youths, or dancers can bring snacks to share during the break.
Dancers will find the Black Diamond Community Hall about 2 miles south of Port Angeles at 1942 Black Diamond Road.
