WEEKEND: Bevy of Peninsula bazaars to offer holiday gifts

NOTE: “Today” and “tonight” refer to Friday, Dec. 5.

Fairs and bazaars offer holiday gifts galore this weekend on the North Olympic Peninsula.

PORT ANGELES

Vern Burton fair

PORT ANGELES — More than 40 vendors will sell their wares at the Vern Burton Christmas Fair on Saturday and Sunday.

Admission will be free to the fair at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St.

Hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Library bazaar

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Friends of the Library group will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar today and Saturday.

The bazaar will be at the library, 2210 S. Peabody St., from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

Custom-made holiday theme baskets, toys and decorated Christmas trees will be featured.

All proceeds will benefit the Port Angeles Library.

Eagle Christmas bazaar

PORT ANGELES — The Eagle Auxiliary will host a Christmas Bazaar at 2843 E. Myrtle St. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Lunch will be available for a small fee, and hot apple cider will be offered for donations.

Handmade items and baked goods will be for sale.

Profits from table rentals and food will go toward the Eagles’ scholarship fund.

Winter bazaar

PORT ANGELES — New Life Open Bible Church, 402 E. Sixth St., will host a winter bazaar fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Homemade gifts, baked goods, calendars and plants are among the items for sale.

SEQUIM

Gala Gift Show

SEQUIM — Sequim Soroptimists will host their annual Gala Gift Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Admission will be free to the show at the Sequim unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula, 400 W. Fir St.

It will feature more than 40 vendors offering items in home decor, jewelry, clothing, accessories, artwork, health and beauty products, and more.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This year, three local children’s authors, Gene G. Bradbury, Kelly Lenihan (Goober & Muffin and The Skipping Stone) and Lindy MacLaine (The Curse of the Neverland), will autograph book purchases.

In addition, Sequim Soroptimists will sell their 2015 “Flower Power” calendars, which display the featured artwork from the past 10 annual Gala Garden Shows.

Homemade bakery items are always a popular attraction at the show, as are the See’s Candies in holiday gift wrap.

The show raises funds for Soroptimist programs and scholarships.

Craft fair at Grange

SEQUIM — The 36th annual Handmade Craft Fair will be held at the Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

All items for sale are handmade.

Lunch, as well as a bake sale table, will be available.

JOYCE

Bazaar of trees, gifts

JOYCE — The Greatest Gift, a holiday bazaar to be held in Joyce Bible Church’s gym, 50470 state Highway 112, will from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Offered are decorated trees, wreaths, fresh-cut trees, a bake sale, books, food, missionaries, handmade gifts, music and a live nativity.

Early shoppers are welcome after the Joyce Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6 p.m. today.

Festival of Lights

PORT TOWNSEND — The fifth annual Festival of Lights is planned at the Unity Spiritual Enrichment Center, 3918 San Juan Ave., from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Saturday.

Admission will be free to the festival, which will offer locally made gifts, crafts and cookies.

A silent auction also is planned.

This year, Unity of Port Townsend will donate 10 percent of all sales, including from the silent auction, to the Port Townsend winter shelter.

Hospital gift shop

PORT TOWNSEND — Jefferson Healthcare Hospital Auxiliary will host a free holiday event for children, their friends, parents and grandparents from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday .

Admission will be free at the event at the hospital at 834 Sheridan St.

Cookies will be offered those who browse the hospital gift shop’s selection of holiday gifts and stocking stuffers.

Santa’s elves will greet children at the Sheridan Street entrance lounge with peppermint candy canes and toys. Photos can be taken with Santa for $7.

Children can drop off letters to Santa in a special North Pole mailbox.

All proceeds from holiday shopping at the hospital gift shop will support health care scholarships, services and equipment at Jefferson Healthcare.

Procrastinators sale

PORT TOWNSEND — The 11th annual Procrastinators Holiday Sale will be held at The Gathering Place, 839 Water St., from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Artists produce locally made products for procrastinating holiday shoppers and raise money for local charities. This year, the procrastinators are sponsoring three local charities.

The Gathering Place is a nonprofit organization that provides enrichment activities for people with disabilities. It will present their calendars and crafts.

The Community Bowl Project will sell previously painted bowls with proceeds going to support the Port Townsend Food Bank.

Scholarship wreaths will be available to support art in Port Townsend High School.

In addition, 17 local artists will feature handmade textiles, jewelry, pottery, herbal products and fused glass among other goods.

Celtic music and lively company will be available.

CHIMACUM

Winter fair

CHIMACUM — The Chimacum Grange will present a Winter Farmer’s Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Admission is $2 for adults, with children admitted free to the fair at the grange at 9572 Rhody Drive.

Local wildcrafted and handmade crafts will be offered from the farming and grange communities.
