FORKS — The Olympic Peninsula Guides’ Association will host its annual River Cleanup on Saturday.
Volunteers are asked to sign in between 5:45 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. at Forks Outfitters, 950 S. Forks Ave.
A table will be set up outside with a signup sheet, instructions, garbage bags and donuts.
Volunteers will clean boat launches and some will boat down rivers.
The Olympic Peninsula Guides’ Association has pinpointed some problem areas that won’t require boat access.
Volunteers should bring work gloves and clothes that can get dirty.
There is $150 in cash prizes for the people who pick up the most garbage from the river.
There is an after-party at 6:30 p.m. at Blakeslee’s Bar & Grill, 1222 S. Forks Ave., which will include a 50/50 raffle for the benefit of the association and an announcement of the river cleanup prize.
The cleanup and after-party are sponsored by Blakeslee’s Bar and Grill and Forks Outfitters.
