SEATTLE – The Coast Guard medically evacuated an injured crewmember from a fishing vessel 38 miles southwest of Tatoosh Island near Neah Bay, Wash., at approximately 6 p.m., Monday.
The Coast Guard was notified at 3:48 p.m. by the vessel that a 44-year old male crew member was suffering from chest pains on the 44-foot fishing vessel Atica.
A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Port Angeles, Wash., hoisted the man using a rescue basket and transported him to Coast Guard Air Station Port Angeles.
An Airlift Northwest helicopter transferred the crewmember to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
