SEKIU — Calm Waters, a Sekiu-based veterans support organization, will host a Saturday auction and garage sale to raise money for an August fishing trip for veterans.
The garage sale will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Sekiu Community Center, 42 Rice St.
A live auction will begin at 1 p.m. upstairs.
There will be a $5 fee for the auction. Food and refreshments will be sold.
A portion of the proceeds will support an Aug. 11-13 fishing tournament for alumni of the Wounded Warrior Project, residents of Sarge’s Place and low-income veterans of the West End.
Calm Waters is a nonprofit composed of mostly Clallam Bay Corrections Center employees.
It sponsors annual fishing trips with the Wounded Warrior Project and Sarge’s Place of Forks and provides lodging, food, licenses, boats and gear, gifts and prizes to the veterans.
