SEQUIM — It may sound like the makings of a strange omelet.
But Sequim police say that since July 11 they have taken seven reports of vandalism to residences and vehicles involving eggs and mustard.
All apparently occurred at night, said a statement from the department on Thursday, and have targeted the Emerald Highland neighborhood.
Patrols have been stepped up, but the department is encouraging residents to help them make their neighborhoods safer:
* Call 9-1-1 immediately when you hear or see suspicious activity.
* Get to know your neighbors.
* Leave your front and rear porch lights on every night.
* Make your house number visible from the street.
* Ensure that neighbors can see your residence.
* Band together with neighbors to help keep an eye on each other’s residences.
* Lock doors every time you leave the house.
