JOYCE — Two Clallam County residents were treated and discharged from Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles after a two-vehicle collision on state Highway 112.
The 3:30 p.m. Friday wreck closed the highway in both directions for about an hour while debris was cleared, according to the Joyce Fire Department.
Benjamin J. Schmidt, 29, of Sequim, and a passenger in his Toyota Highlander, Rashaya Donnell, 27, of Port Angeles, were treated at OMC, hospital personnel confirmed.
Another passenger, a one-month old child, was not hurt, the State Patrol said.
The State Patrol cited Schmidt for second-degree negligent driving.
Schmidt was driving a vehicle west on Highway 112 just west of Dodger Lane when his vehicle crossed the centerline and hit a camper being pulled by an eastbound vehicle driven by Patrick McCann, 49, of Spokane.
Schmidt’s vehicle rolled into a ditch on the eastbound side of the highway.
Neither McCann nor his passenger, Stephanie Kenyon, 44, of Nine Mile Falls, were hurt, the State Patrol said.
All were wearing seat belts.
