CHIMACUM — Two people were transported to hospitals after a three-car collision on state Highway 19.
Janet Bruhn, 48, of Port Hadlock was traveling southbound in a 1988 Toyota pickup on Highway 19 at milepost 10 about 10:45 a.m. Friday when she lost control and struck a trailer of a vehicle traveling the opposite direction, the State Patrol said.
Bruhn continued southbound in the northbound lane and struck a 2014 GMC Savana driven by Donald White, 29, of Renton, the State Patrol said.
Bruhn was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she was in serious condition on Monday in the intensive care unit, hospital spokesperson Susan Gregg said.
White was transported to Jefferson Healthcare in Port Townsend, according to the State Patrol.
Two occupants in the vehicle pulling the trailer were uninjured, the State Patrol said.
All four people involved were wearing seatbelts, the State Patrol said.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were involved, the agency added.
The State Patrol cited the cause as a failure to maintain driving in the lane.
The Toyota pickup and GMC Savana were totally destroyed, the State Patrol said. A 2019 Chevrolet Suburban and its trailer sustained reportable damage. The Suburban was driven from the scene, the State Patrol said.
