PORT LUDLOW — Two people injured Sunday when their vehicle rolled over near Port Ludlow were still hospitalized Tuesday morning, one in critical condition, according to a Harborview Medical Center spokesman.
Brandon Coyne, 19, of Poulsbo was listed as being in critical condition late Monday at Harborview.
Emely Phillips, 18, of Shelton was in stable condition.
No update on their conditions was available Tuesday afternoon.
James Gaines, 19, of Poulsbo was treated and released.
Gaines, Coyne and Phillips were airlifted to Harborview after the wreck.
A 17-year-old passenger was taken to Harrison Medical Center.
The four teens were heading southbound on Oak Bay Road near Walker Road when the driver failed to negotiate a curve, said Capt. Mike Stringer of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The car went airborne, struck a tree, then rolled before landing on its side near Heron Road, Stringer said.
One passenger was ejected and landed on Heron Road, while the driver and two passengers were able to get out of the vehicle on their own.
Excessive speed and alcohol are suspected as causes of the wreck, Stringer said.
