KALALOCH — Two people were injured when a car was struck by a tractor-trailer rig Thursday afternoon on U.S. Highway 101 on the West End.
Sasha Nicole Boling, 18, of Forks was driving northbound in a 1991 Toyota Corolla at Milepost 161 when she attempted to make a left turn in front of a southbound 1996 International flatbed lumber truck hauling two trailers, according to a report by State Patrol Trooper Eric Tilton.
Boling suffered ankle and shoulder injuries, and was taken to Forks Community Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the truck, Danny Ira Harner, 32, of Hoquiam, received injuries to his arm and declined treatment at the scene, Tilton said.
Tilton cited Boling for failure to yield.
The highway was blocked at the scene of the wreck from 4:40 p.m. to 5:08 p.m., the state Department of Transportation said.
The Corolla was towed, and the International was driven from the scene, he said.
