Tulip festival poster wins gold award

MOUNT VERNON — The International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA) recently named the 2013 Skagit Valley Tulip Festival poster by Karen Sistek of Port Angeles as the Haas & Wilkerson Gold Pinnacle Award winner for the Best Commemorative Poster at ceremonies held in Pittsburgh.

“Getting this award really shows the quality of the artwork we choose to make into Tulip Festival posters. We won this award after a review of 40 different judges who determined ours was the best for our budget category in 2013,” said Cindy Verge, executive director of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival.

“There were entries from all over the United States and from small festivals in various parts of the world.

“This is exciting for us.”
