Port Angeles artist and sign painter Jackson Smart performs touch-up work to the visage of President Theodore Roosevelt emblazoned near the top of the “Olympic Visions” mural behind the Conrad Dyar Memorial Fountain in downtown Port Angeles this week.
Smart and fellow artist Dani LaBlond were responsible for a complete restoration of the full mural in 2010 after the original muralist, Tim Quinn, died before a reworking of the 2000 version of “Olympic Visions” could begin.
The Nor’Wester Rotary club, which commissioned the mural restoration, brought Smart in to touch up a portion of the original Quinn artwork.
