Touch-a-Truck event declared a success

CHIMACUM — The Kiwanis Club of Port Townsend and East Jefferson Fire-Rescue have announced that their inaugural Touch-A-Truck event was a success.

According to a press release, more than 200 children attended the event June 1 at the Chimacum School campus.

The event featured more than 20 big rigs from a variety of public agencies and local businesses.

Organizers are planning for another touch-a-truck event next year and hope to include a jobs fair for teens in conjunction with it.
